Many device drivers are not updated through the Microsoft Windows Update service. If you are having trouble finding the right driver, stop searching and fix driver problems faster with the Automatic Driver Update Utility. Automatic updates could save you hours of time.

The Driver Update Utility automatically finds, downloads and installs the right driver for your hardware and operating system. It will Update all of your drivers in just a few clicks, and even backup your drivers before making any changes.

Many computer problems are caused by missing or outdated device drivers, especially in Windows 11. If your desktop or laptop is running slow, or keeps crashing or hanging, there is a good chance that updating your drivers will fix the problem.

Once you have downloaded your new driver, you'll need to install it. In Windows, use a built-in utility called Device Manager, which allows you to see all of the devices recognized by your system, and the drivers associated with them.

Low-Latency Monitor Mode with Digital Inputs — This updated DAE library allows the use of digital inputs (ADAT, S/PDIF, Optical S/PDIF) when using low-latency monitoring mode. With the version of Pro Tools LE v5.3.2 that came with Digi 002 (both Mac OS and Windows XP), enabling low-latency monitoring mode mistakenly disabled the S/PDIF inputs as well as shifted ADAT input routing (what was channel 1-2 became channel 3-4).

Loud Pop or Burst of Noise at the end of selected regions — This update also fixes a loud pop that may appear at the end of playback of a selected region when a master fader is moved during playback. Even if you have never encountered this problem, please download the fix to avoid possible loud pops in the future.

You can not install PTLE 7 on your mac since it is 100% not compatible and you don't have to to get LX to work with you hardware. Download this installer and you are good to go. Here it is, download the 11.0.0 driver.

Edit - I am using a Mac Pro Tower so I can't speak to the latest iMac, but a thunderbolt to firewire adapter should do the trick in that case. As a precaution you could install the latest 002/003 drivers and make sure you can access the device that way before dropping the money for Logic.

I hate to beat a dead horse but needing direction to whom who has the knowledge with incorporating both logic and digi 002. I have been doing some massive researching saw many users able to make it work. But the posts that I have been reading has been more than 2-3 years ago and need a little more recent posts.

I have attempted to do it myself and failing miserably. Long story short, I have switched over to Logic and I am done with pro tools. I can't afford the upgrades and such. But what I would like to see happen is to salvage the digi 002 for as long as I can. So not sure what I am doing wrong.

Long answer: If AVID's core audio drivers aren't compatible with your system then there's nothing you can do. If they are listed as compatible with your version of macOS but don't appear in Logic's preferences, then they're either not properly installed, or something is wrong with the drivers, and you need to contact AVID about it.

I've been running Protools 9.06 on a Windows 7 box with a digi 002 interface for years. A few days ago, after cleaning, I tried to run protools and it complained it couldn't find the hardware. After trying various things (including re-running the installer for the 002/003 drivers), I plugged in a Digi 003R+ and a Digi 003R and both of these devices worked, both with Protools and Reason.

I'm wondering if the Digi 002 is maybe dead after all this time -- i.e., a dead firewire interface? Or perhaps the driver got corrupted somehow? I see that the 002 drivers are still kicking around inside the machine when I try to choose an audio device in Reason (see attached image) but I cannot get the 002 to show up in the windows device manager even if I do the set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 trick before launching the device manager.

Can anyone tell me how I can completely remove the Digi 002 drivers and reinstall them? Or what steps to take to determine if this 002 is dead? Sadly, I can't get these drivers to appear in the device manager so I can click 'uninstall'. I'd also point out that the 1394 lights on the front of the 002 never light up, but the link light right next to the firewire connector on the back of the Digi 002 lights up just fine when the unit is on and connected to a running machine.

The Digidesign 002 Rack / Console is still a very common audio interface, mainly because of its high quality. The driver installation in Windows 7 though can be a bit tricky. At first you need the correct driver from here -002-003-Drivers. Be sure to download the correct driver for your interface. As of now it looks like this:

After downloading the driver simply install click the exe file and install them. In most cases the Windows Device Manager will still show you the Digidesign 002 & 003 device with no driver installed. Then you have to do the following;

To be safe, try to check the permissions of the antivirus. To exaggerate ;-) download a Nightly ( ), create a new folder, for example MuseScoreN, and extract into that.In any case: welcome aboard!

Just to say I managed to fix the problem. An old audio driver (for a digidesign 002) hadn't uninstalled correctly. When I finally managed to rid the registry of references to it, both versions of musescore ran first time. Now to get learning...

Hi. Just rooted around my recycle bin to find it for you. It was a part of that set of drivers certainly, I can't be 100% on the exact version as I installed a few and don't know which exactly didn't uninstall. Was one of...

I found it referenced in the startup procedure (wherever that was, im new to win7 so it all took a bit longer than it should have) and also running in windows task manager. I stopped and disabled it before I could delete the digidesign folder with all of the defunct drivers. 350c69d7ab
